Cody Westerhold has spent the past 15 years traveling throughout the United States, Australia, and England teaching and supervising summer cheerleading camps. As a UCA staff member and Head instructor he has helped train and educate thousands of cheerleaders and coaches.
After graduating from The University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in Business he began his college coaching career as an Assistant at The University of Oklahoma. While at OU Cody helped prepare routines for Nationals in Orlando FL, and accompany the team to the Insight Bowl in Arizona. He also spent 3 years working at Twist and Shout all-star gym working with their level 6 all girl team, and teaching tumbling to cheerleaders of all ages. From there he moved to Coffeyville, Ks to become the Head Cheer and Dance coach. He was able to grow the squad and transform them into a more collegiate game day team, and created a youth program that gave over 30 kids in the community an opportunity to learn more about cheerleading.
Cody has spent the past 5 years judging, refereeing, and consulting STUNT teams in the Oklahoma and Kansas area. With Independence Community College becoming the first Junior college in Kansas to make STUNT an official sport, Cody joined the program to become the Stunt Coordinator. This season ICC was the only 2 year program competing against 4 year schools such as University of Texas-Tyler, Oklahoma City University, and The University of Oklahoma. Coming out of the inaugural season Cody hopes to help grow the program and become even more competitive in the coming seasons.
