With 24 years of experience at the High School, Junior College and Division I levels, 300 plus wins and coaching four former Olympians, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Leslie Crane will begin her sixth year at ICC as a veteran coach. Prior to coming to ICC Leslie worked as a consultant for Sport Tours International as the tournament director responsible for Game management and recruiting. From 1998 through 2011 Leslie was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Western Illinois University. Crane won her 150th game in 2007 against Southern Utah and was the first coach in the school’s history to record a 20-win season with a 21-9 record in the 2002–2003 season.
Before going to Western Illinois, Leslie worked as the Assistant Women’s Basketball coach at the University of Missouri in Columbia, where she was the recruiting coordinator. From 1997–1993 Coach Crane revitalized the basketball program at Kansas City Kansas Community College, where her team was ranked in the top 20 of the NJCAA and became 1997 Region VI Champions and advancing to the NJCAA National Tournament in Tyler Texas. Leslie has coached Select Basketball Teams Internationally from 1990 through 1993 traveling to Barbados, Brazil, Soviet Union and Estonia. Coach Crane has been recognized for her success as: Mid-Continent Conference Coach of the year in 2003, 2004 and 2005, named KBCA Community College Coach of the year in 1997 and District D-NJCAA coach of the year. In 1994 & 1995 she was named Kansas Jayhawk-East conference Coach of the Year.
