Pirates Football has four honored on KJCCC All-Conference team

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. -  The KJCCC released their 2025 Football All-Conference selections Thursday morning and multiple Pirates were recognized for their efforts this season as two players were named to the first team, two players named to the second team, and a dozen players were named Honorable Mention. 

The Pirates are coming off a season where they finished the year 4-7, with wins over Ellsworth, NEO, Highland and Dodge City, and finished fifth in the KJCCC. 

Ejani Shakir - First Team Wide Receiver/Second Team Return Specialist

Shakir, a sophomore Wide Receiver from Pennsauken, New Jersey was a big play threat all year for a Pirate passing attack that was amongst the best in the nation. Shakir had team highs in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns for the Pirates as he totaled 43 receptions, good for second in the KJCCC, 724 yards, and six touchdowns, good for third in the conference. Shakir's 87 yard touchdown on October 4th against Highland, was the longest reception of the year in the KJCCC helping lead the Pirates to a 26-0 win. Shakir finished the year with 72.4 receiving yards per game, which was good for second in the KJCCC. In the return game, Shakir had 327 yards on 13 kick returns and 70 yards on 16 punt returns.

Phillip DeFellice - First Team Tight End 

DeFellice, a 6'6 freshman from Pensacola, Florida, was another fantastic weapon for the Pirate offense. Skilled as both a pass catcher and a blocker in the run game, DeFellice stood out as a big time red zone threat as he hauled in four touchdown passes on the season. He finished the year with 24 catches for 235 yards, as he had multiple receptions in every game but two. His best game of his freshman season came in a road win at NEO where he hauled in five passes for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the 21-11 victory.

Kamar Lhomme - Second Team Cornerback 

Lhomme, a Redshirt-Sophomore from Miami Gardens, Florida was an anchor for a Pirate secondary that was amongst the nations best in forcing turnovers. Lhomme had a team high five interceptions, which was good for a tie for second place in the conference, and a tie for fifth in the nation. He also notched a pair of pass breakups, 26 tackles and three tackles for loss, showcasing his ability to help in run defense as well as be effective defending the pass. Lhomme's best game came in a defensive slugfest victory over Dodge City on November 1st, as he had a pair of crucial second half interceptions, helping the Pirates seal the 6-3 win over the Conquistadors.

Lijah Cecil (OG) - Freshman, Venice, Florida

Kenneth Ford Jr. (S) - RS-Freshman, Baltimore, Maryland

Nasir Hudson (DE) - RS-Freshman, New Orleans, Louisiana

Ivan Johnson (RB) - RS-Sophomore, Brunswick, Georgia

Thaddius Parson (DT) - RS-Sophomore, Birmingham, Alabama

Clark Pierson (OG) - Sophomore, Wylie, Texas

Josiah Raven (LB) - Sophomore, Tallahassee, Florida

James Resar (TE) - RS-Freshman, Jacksonville, Florida

Ajahvea Robinson (DE) - RS-Sophomore, Chicago, Illinois

Kamari Williams (CB) - RS-Freshman, Baltimore, Maryland
