INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - After two strong seasons in a Pirate uniform, Softball Sophomore Alexis Yarnell will continue her academic and playing career at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Yarnell appeared in 75 games across her two year career as a Pirate, primarily splitting duties behind the plate and at first base. In her freshman year, she slashed .351/.407/.495 as she totaled 39 hits, 12 of which went for extra bases with nine doubles, two triples, and a homerun.
Yarnell's sophomore campaign saw her hit .255/.319/.415 , amassing 27 hits, 13 of which for extra bases. She clubbed 11 doubles, a pair of home runs and drove in a team high 32 runs.
Defensively, she gunned down 11 runners over two years on steal attempts behind the plate, and finished with a stellar .994 fielding percentage in her sophomore season.
Bethany College competes in the NAIA KCAC conference, and is coming off of a 17-28 season overall and 11-16 in conference play. They lost to eventual KCAC champion Evangel in the first round of the playoffs.
