INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - The Independence Community College (ICC) Esports team continued their fantastic start to the season with another successful competition over the weekend. The Pirates Call of Duty, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Counter Strike teams are all undefeated to begin their season.
Call of Duty:
The ICC Call of Duty team pushed their overall record to 3-0 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Ashland University over the weekend. They now gear up for a highly anticipated match against Auburn University, who is also unbeaten, on Thursday, with the winner claiming the #1 spot in the standings.
Rocket League:
In just their first year competing, ICC’s Rocket League team continued their strong start as they defeated Sitting Bull College out of North Dakota 3-1. They look to continue their hot start, as they prepare to square off with Stephen F. Austin University out of Texas on Tuesday.
Rainbow Six Siege:
The ICC Rainbow Six Siege team picked up their second win in dominant fashion as they defeated Neumont College 7-1 and 7-2 in back-to-back rounds to remain unbeaten at 2-0 on the season.
“Our players have really come out strong this season,” said Zachary Spraldin, ICC Esports Director. “It’s exciting to see their dedication pay off and to watch ICC represented so well across multiple titles.”
The ICC Esports program continues to expand its reach and roster, offering students opportunities to compete at a national level while developing teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
